ComsOS Terms of Use
Effective date: August 11, 2026 Last updated: August 11, 2026
ComsOS is a student-developed educational project based in Massachusetts, United States. It is created by Leyang Zhang (the "Student Creator") under the supervision of Jiaqi Yang (the "Supervising Adult"). ComsOS is not currently a corporation, limited liability company, or other separate legal entity.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ComsOS website, waitlist, diagnostic assessment, and related features at comsos.app (collectively, the "Service"). In these Terms, "ComsOS," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the Student Creator and Supervising Adult in their operation of the project.
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to submit information through the Service. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
2. Current Service
The Service provides information about ComsOS, a waitlist, and a diagnostic experience that uses AI-assisted grading to generate question scores, explanations, concept-mastery estimates, and a session report. It does not currently provide user accounts, paid subscriptions, or persistent learning histories.
Information about planned features is provided for general informational purposes. Features, designs, timelines, availability, and pricing may change or may never be released.
3. Waitlist and Email
If you join the waitlist, you authorize ComsOS to send project updates, beta invitations, feature announcements, surveys, and related communications, subject to applicable law.
You may unsubscribe from promotional email at any time. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access to a beta, product, feature, prize, or service.
4. Acceptable Use
When using the Service, you may not:
- use the Service unlawfully or violate another person's rights;
- submit false, fraudulent, abusive, harmful, or infringing material;
- attempt to access non-public systems or data without authorization;
- interfere with, overload, probe, scan, or circumvent the Service's security;
- introduce malware or malicious code;
- scrape or harvest information using automated means without permission; or
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with ComsOS.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original software, text, interface, design, graphics, logo, and branding belong to the Student Creator or their licensors and are protected by applicable law.
You may use the Service for personal, lawful, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not copy, distribute, modify, sell, or exploit original ComsOS materials without permission, except where applicable law allows it.
The ComsOS name and branding may not be used in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation.
6. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service relies on third parties, including Anthropic for AI-assisted grading and providers for hosting, waitlist registration, and email delivery. It may also link to third-party websites. Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. ComsOS is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
7. Educational and AI Disclaimer
The Service is provided for educational, demonstration, and project-development purposes. ComsOS is not a school, professional tutoring service, official testing organization, or admissions adviser.
AI-generated scores, explanations, mastery estimates, and reports may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances. They are not official grades, test scores, admissions decisions, or guarantees of academic improvement. Independently review important results and consult a qualified educator when appropriate.
ComsOS is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the College Board or any other testing organization.
8. Future Features
ComsOS may later introduce accounts, persistent learning histories, payments, expanded AI features, or other functionality. Additional or updated terms may apply before those features become available. Continued use of a future service may require acceptance of updated terms.
9. Availability and Changes
The Service is an early-stage project and is provided "as is" and "as available." We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service or its outputs will always be available, secure, accurate, or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Student Creator and Supervising Adult disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Student Creator and Supervising Adult will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, opportunities, academic outcomes, or profits arising from use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, their total liability for claims related to the Service will not exceed US$100. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and applicable laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction located in Massachusetts, except where applicable consumer law allows otherwise.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the revised Terms with a new "Last updated" date and provide additional notice where required. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the Service.
13. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement concerning the current Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
